Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”
