Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
