FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
