Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, per an announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed following standard procedures and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event is not the first time that a American defense plane carrying a top government figure has experienced technical problems.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was compelled to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
