A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can now put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator
In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to bar the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A court order issued a embargo on the investigation to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making controversial statements that were met with immediate backlash by several public figures.
Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the those speaking out recently. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a worrisome absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by proposing that an adviser ought to have acted when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
