This young athlete maintains considerable online following
Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known supporters when she makes her LPGA debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to participate at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses numerous golf courses and often matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments recently and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from golf legend, who is dating her mother.
"He is the top athlete globally," Kai expressed.
"And he's a more impressive human being. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
Kai will face several top competitors in the sport at this tournament, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that her participation helps introduce the sport to wider groups, especially with youth audiences.
The young star boasts a massive following and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
